Gone are the days when only men ran things in the music world. Today there are tons of women in the music industry that hold important leadership positions. Recently Billboard recognized some of these women with their list- Billboard’s 2017 Women in Music. Among these 100 women was Roc Nation’s own Desiree Perez. Perez has been working for years to build an incredible reputation in the music industry.
Serving as the COO of Roc Nation, Desiree Perez, 47, has been an important factor in many of Roc Nation’s biggest moves. She has spent years developing a reputation as being a tough negotiator. She has been a leader behind the music streaming service TIDAL which she recently help to negotiate a 200 million dollar investment from Sprint. This incredible investment contributed to the success of Jay-Z’s album 4:44 which was able to go platinum before its release thanks to more than a million Sprint-sponsored free downloads.
During her more than two decades of work, Desiree Perez has been involved in many other major negotiations. Perez played a major role in putting together the Beyoncé Formation stadium tour, which was a huge success. She also singer Rihanna to get her huge deal with Samsung. Perez serves as part of a group that runs the entire operation of Roc Nation. Known as the ‘Hova Circle’ this group includes Jana Fleischman, Jay Brown and Ty Ty Smith.
Desiree Perez has made a tremendous mark on the music industry. With her incredible passion and dedication, she is almost certain to continue impacting the industry for many more years to come.
